- ➤ Peoria Mayor Rita Ali said the annual MLK Day march is paused due to low turnout and the need for better planning next year. In its place, community organizers will hold The People's March on Monday at 2 p.m. starting at the Civic Center and ending at Grace Baptist Church. Peoria Journal Star
- ➤ Peoria Park District will use a $600K state grant from the OSLAD program to upgrade Chartwell Park on the northwest side by adding a playground, walking paths, a picnic shelter & invasive plant removal; design work and public input start next year with completion expected by late summer or fall.
