EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bradley University and Illinois Central College announced a new transfer program (Path2BU) that lets ICC students with associate degrees join Bradley with streamlined credit evaluation and advising. Eligible students with at least a 2.7 GPA may receive last-dollar scholarships funded by a $1 million Gilmore Foundation grant.  WMBD

  • Early Tuesday at 1:27 a.m., USGS confirmed a 3.8 magnitude earthquake occurred near Ohlman — residents in Springfield, Decatur, Jacksonville and other nearby towns reported feeling the shake.  WMBD

  • The Illinois Secretary of State warned drivers on Jan. 20 about scam texts that pretend to be from the DMV and threaten to suspend driving privileges — the notice stressed that official texts only send appointment reminders.  Peoria Journal Star
