  • The Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport saw a 22% increase in December passengers, setting a new monthly record with 66,150 people flying, fueled by an increase in flights and seating capacity.  Pekin Daily Times

CRIME NEWS

  • Demoriel Sims was arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in South Peoria that resulted in the death of Quentin Shinkle.  WMBD
  • Victor Farris pleaded guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking and Kidnapping for taking a vehicle with a three-year-old inside in Peoria and was sentenced to 15 years.  WMBD
  • Domincue Linwood was convicted of First Degree Murder for the September 2022 fatal shooting of Jamarion Lee in Peoria, with sentencing scheduled for March 19th.  WMBD

CULTURE NEWS

  • Peoria Players Theatre is set to stage the Tony Award-winning musical 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' with performances from Jan. 31 to Feb. 8, showcasing local talent.  WCBU
