- ➤ Breaking Free is a community art project on pysanky led by Crystal Potthoff and ArtsPartners of Central Illinois—participants learn wax batik techniques and the exhibition runs from Feb. 6 to Feb. 28 at Artful Journey Gallery and from March 2 to April 12 at Five Points Washington. WCBU

- ➤ More than 150 unique collectibles, including Michael Jordan trading cards, signed comics and vintage memorabilia, are up for bid in the Illinois State Treasurer's online auction — open since Jan. 23 and closing Sunday, Feb. 1. - ➤ Pekin officials announced on Wednesday that state law gives the city sole authority over a proposed data center on vacant land (between State Route 98 and Sheridan Road) at Lutticken Farm; a town hall meeting is set for March 24 at Pekin Community High School to discuss the project. WCBU
- ➤ Illinois American Water filed a request with the Illinois Commerce Commission to raise rates for $577 million in planned water system upgrades through December — residential and wastewater customers will pay $14 and $28 more monthly. A statewide watchdog described the proposal as a money grab and vowed to fight it. WCBU
