  • Northwest United Methodist Church will host Soup-er Bowl Sunday tomorrow to collect soup cans to stock its Daily Bread Food Pantry at 3800 W. War Memorial Drive — families split into Seahawks and Patriots teams to compete until February's end; donations can be arranged by phone.  WMBD
  • Recent lottery data shows Illinois ranks among the top states for Mega Millions wins — with 16 winners — while multiple states lead in Powerball wins. A $209 million jackpot in North Carolina on Jan. 22 was the year's only win so far.  Pekin Daily Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dunlap High School juniors and seniors practiced voting at a mock election Friday to learn how to cast ballots and register ahead of the March primary and November general election (a hands-on lesson similar to driver’s ed).  25 News Now
  • Bradley University broke ground on a donor-funded outdoor recreation complex near the southwest campus, which will include pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, and game areas.
