ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Peoria County’s drought has caused 21 brush fires since December, and Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger urged residents to avoid outdoor burning as burn permits are suspended. Farm Bureau Manager Charlie Hensley warned that at least an inch of rain weekly is needed to ease drought conditions and protect spring planting.  25 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Pritzker said Bears have paused negotiations with Indiana officials, noting the team needs more time to finalize a bill that could keep them in Illinois. He stressed the state will not fund a new stadium, leaving the decision pending for now.  Pekin Daily Times
