Bags of Blessings, a joint effort by Peoria Friendship House, HyVee, St. Paul Peoria & City of Peoria Township, will deliver 500 food bags with meal kits at six sites on March 22.
This monthly drive began two months ago to help residents challenged by inflation.

The Eddie Bauer store at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie closed on Feb.
22 (its only local location), leaving Peoria shoppers with only online options as the brand pursues restructuring amid uncertain plans for its other stores.

A survey found that Peoria’s property tax rate was the nation’s second-highest, with the median homeowner paying $4,263 and East Orange leading with a rate of 2.453%.
Several Illinois communities also ranked high based on data from the American Community Survey.
