- ➤ The Greater Peoria Honor Flight will host its flightless tour on June 23 for veterans to visit local memorials and attend a program at the Air National Guard, ending with a welcome home service. Those interested should apply for Operation Penguin. 25 News Now
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ By mid-summer, local coffee shop CxT Roasting Company will open a new storefront in Blutowne in East Peoria, CEO Mitchell Popadziuk said. The site near Target, the library, and city hall aims to serve customers from Peoria and surrounding areas. Pekin Daily Times
- ➤ Peoria is moving toward a 53-acre business park on Galena Road (between Gardner Lane and Koch Drive) if the city council approves rezoning to industrial use. The plan is expected to be funded by state or federal dollars and could start construction within a year-and-a-half. 25 News Now
- ➤ Eddie Bauer failed to secure a buyer, so its Peoria store at 5201 W War Memorial Drive has begun closing sales and will stop accepting gift cards after March 12 + this follows the Chapter 11 filing in February. Pekin Daily Times

- ➤ City staff proposed a plan to let downtown food vendors increase from three to five along Hamilton and NE Adams and waive a $3,400 fee for carts + trucks; Peoria City Council met Tuesday to review the measure aimed at reviving the street food scene. WMBD
