CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Peoria Police arrested two 17-year-olds on Thursday in connection with a 2024 murder on North Scrimshaw Drive — one teen has 10 prior arrests and the other 20 — and both were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center as the State’s Attorney prepares to file first degree murder charges. 25 News Now
- ➤ Two 17-year-olds were arrested Thursday on first degree murder and motor vehicle burglary charges in connection with the killing of 23-year-old Clay Megan at Wood Sage Apartments—police said the shooting occurred early November 4th last year and prosecutors plan to try the teens as adults. WMBD

- ➤ James Shadid, a United States District Judge and Bradley University graduate from 1979, was unanimously named the new 13th president on March 12th and will begin his role on April 1st (replacing the interim leader). 25 News Now
- ➤ Illinois Central College will end on-campus housing at its East Peoria campus this summer because the WoodView Commons Apartments need costly upgrades — about 250 students are affected and more meetings will be held after spring break to find off-campus options. The change comes as the college looks for a new long-term plan after about 100 students finish their studies following the spring term. WCBU
