ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Illinois State Police said an SUV and a Ford sedan crashed on I-74 just west of the Kickapoo exit Friday night when a tree fell in the road during strong thunderstorms—no injuries were reported. WMBD
- ➤ Severe storms moved across central Illinois Friday night—damaging property in Canton where a store's roof partially collapsed and in Hanna City while knocking out power for hundreds, including more than 1,800 customers in Tazewell County. WMBD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Peoria Public Works crews are clearing downed trees and branches that blocked roads, sidewalks, and alleys after Friday night’s storms—damage was minor. Residents are advised to report hazards and follow collection guidelines for yard waste starting March 17. WMBD
- ➤ Beginning Monday, projects in Peoria start with lane restrictions returning to I-474 and Airport Road—where I-474 is reduced to one lane each way until mid-June—and Moss Avenue being closed for pavement removal from 7 a.m.; southbound traffic on Maxwell Road will be limited until late July or early August while sidewalk removal continues at Adams and Kumpf Boulevard with Jefferson Street restrictions expected next week. In Tazewell County, Townline Road near Tremont will be closed for bridge replacement until the end of October. WMBD
