ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Peoria dropped 2.5 cents a gallon to $3.23 on Monday as a GasBuddy survey of 148 stations showed prices falling five cents lower than last month and nearly 34 cents lower than a year ago. Patrick De Haan warned that the lower prices may signal a slowing economy—prices may remain low until conditions improve—prompting closer monitoring of future trends.  WMBD

  • Bradley Braves seniors Darius Hannah and Zek Montgomery chose not to play in the NIT, ending their college careers—Coach Brian Wardle said the team will change its lineup for the game on Wednesday while both players plan to go pro.  Pekin Daily Times
