  • Sarah Howard is expected to join Andy Diaz on the Peoria Public Schools Board if her 86-vote lead over Doug Shannon holds as the remaining ballots are counted; Shannon said he will honor the final totals once certified.  WCBU
  • The Peoria Public Schools Board of Education removed the interim tag from Ryan McElmurry’s title at Monday night’s meeting after he led the boys' basketball team to a 6-1 start. Although parents supported Orlando Edwards Sr., McElmurry, an assistant coach since 2019 (a former standout player), remains head coach.  25 News Now

  • Protesters plan No Kings rallies across Illinois on Saturday, March 28 to challenge federal policies on immigration and healthcare; in Peoria the event runs from 1-2:30, and participants are urged to follow state permit rules & assembly guidelines.  Pekin Daily Times
  • Peoria City Council approved a 15-year extension of Westlake Shopping Center's special service area and increased its supplemental sales tax from 0.75% to 1% on March 25, paving the way for improvements, upgrades and the arrival of new retail tenants.  WCBU
