  • Protesters gathered yesterday along War Memorial Drive near Peoria Stadium for a 'No Kings' rally organized by Peoria 50501 as residents united to support community values. Similar demonstrations took place in Bloomington and Normal.  WCBU

  • Today, Advanced Technology Services, a Peoria-based industrial maintenance firm, was named to Fortune magazine’s 2026 list of most innovative companies for its work in process innovation (marking its second honor in four years) as it improves uptime and efficiency for customers.  Pekin Daily Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students from Central Illinois attended the Annual Youth Symposium at Manual High School on Saturday, where they learned self-care, stress relief, financial literacy, and civic engagement from council member Andre Allen. Hosted by the Epsilon ETA Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma RHO Sorority, the event also featured a silent disco — prizes were given out.  25 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews will reduce lanes on Cedar St. Bridge on Wednesday for crossover setup until mid-May, before a two-month shutdown. The Moss Ave and MacArthur Hwy intersection will close for three months while parts of MacArthur Hwy and sidewalks face up to 10-week closures.  WMBD
  • State lawmakers are considering a bill that lets renters install small plug-in solar panels on balconies or patios — a move that could lower energy costs. The measure passed the Senate Energy and Public Utilities Committee on March 12 and now awaits an amendment before a full vote.  WMBD
