Firefighters responded to a home on Knollaire Court Friday evening after a basement fire was reported and quickly extinguished—no injuries were found as officials investigate a possible electrical cause.
On Saturday afternoon, a fundraiser was held at Pour Bros Taproom in Peoria Heights—proceeds from food and a 50-50 raffle will help cover medical bills and other expenses for the Post family after a December car crash that left 18-year-old Aiden Post in the hospital for seven weeks and his father hospitalized.
Shaun Livingston, the former NBA star, attended a Saturday ceremony where the 2003 and 2004 Peoria High state championship teams were inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame at the Peoria Civic Center ballroom.
He coordinated the event so that his former teammates could join the celebration—honoring a shared legacy of championship success.
On March 28th, the Peoria Rivermen beat the Pensacola Ice Flyers 2-0 at Carver Arena in front of a record crowd of 9,509 to secure the regular-season title by winning the William B.
Coffey Trophy—though defenseman Zach Wilkie and forward Mike McChesney suffered injuries that may keep them out for the playoffs. Goaltender Colby Muise tied the shutout record with his eighth shutout and coach Jean-Guy Trudel was honored for his record wins, adding pressure as the team prepares for the postseason.
