  • Tuesday, the 38th Greater Peoria Honor Flight took off from Peoria International Airport with 72 Central Illinois veterans & their guardians for a tour of Washington, D.C. They returned around 9:30 p.m. with shuttle service available from the CEFCU parking lot starting at 8 p.m.  WMBD
  • Neighbors near Detweiller Marina are opposing the planned sale of part of the community land by the Detweiller Playground Trust — they urge support at today's Park District Board meetings at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to keep Caroline Street open and preserve public access for boating.  25 News Now
  • On Monday night, veterans, guardians and donors gathered for an Honor Flight dinner — a pre-flight celebration that raised funds for travel to Washington, D.C. so veterans could visit memorials honoring their service.  25 News Now
  • O’Brien Steel plans to buy eight acres of parkland along the Illinois River near the closed marina to fund its upkeep, though some residents worry the sale will reduce river access; the park district is set to adjust the easement for the Rock Island Greenway Trail.  WCBU

  • Comedian Liz Miele, who roasted Peoria in 2024, will perform Friday, April 10 at Avanti's Event Center in Pekin as part of the Second Friday Comedy Series—Edgar Sandoval will host while local comedian Jon Maddy joins the lineup. HEALTH NEWS

  • Peoria Fire Department — offering free smoke alarm installations — launches a program for older residents after data showed those over 65 face twice the risk of dying in a fire. The service reminds residents to keep key safety items nearby and follow state fire guidance.  25 News Now
  • Peoria County celebrated National Donate Life Month on Monday morning when the coroner’s office issued a proclamation urging residents to sign up as organ and tissue donors. The event featured Gift of Hope and highlighted that a donor can save multiple lives + offer comfort to families.  WMBD
