Good morning, Peoria.

Peoria Grown partners with Kroger to ease grocery access after the Sterling Avenue Kroger store closed last year — the group allocated $10,000 to buy fresh produce for Market 309 at Trewyn Park Pavilion — offering low-cost options for residents facing transportation challenges.

Peoria’s riverfront will host a busy summer of events including a Steamboat Classic pre-race party on June 5 and race on June 6, a Revel in Red concert on June 12, a Juneteenth celebration on June 19, and many more festivals featuring music, food, and culture.

This week, two lanes on Jefferson from I-74 to Kumpf Boulevard will close Tuesday for resurfacing — Walnut Street’s south side will be off-limits.

Monday begins widening on Kickapoo-Edwards Road until July, with nightly lane closures on Scott Lucas Memorial Bridge ahead of a May 1 project.
