- ➤ Shaun Schlosser and his brother finalized the purchase of Pekin Country Club last week after a five-month process that included a Small Business Administration loan and the acquisition of the club's assets—an 18-hole golf course, restaurant, banquet facility, and pool. They plan to restore the club by reopening the restaurant and offering public golf on Mondays, with discounted memberships available before Memorial Day and public access starting the first week of May. - ➤ A Peoria man was arrested Saturday after allegedly taking a vehicle at gunpoint during a test drive at Autohaus of Peoria — police later found the car along Interstate 155 in south Tazewell County. Pekin Daily Times
- ➤ Wildlife Prairie Park officials said an antique 36 caliber muzzle loading percussion cap rifle was stolen from the park’s Log Room—a piece donated in 1981 that has been in the Brooks family since 1835, and anyone with information should contact local police. WCBU
