- ➤ Los Cabos Cantina & Grill in Peoria will operate with normal dining hours on May 5, 2026, canceling its outdoor Cinco de Mayo festivities after past incidents of unsafe behavior and racist insults. The restaurant will serve guests on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations, live entertainment or DJ scheduled). 25 News Now
- ➤ Peoria City Soccer announced a two-year partnership with OSF to become the team’s primary sponsor by featuring its logo on uniforms and camp shirts and adding an onsite presence at matches. - ➤ A new study using Gas Buddy data finds that the cheapest regular gas in Illinois is $3.44 at Rock Island’s Gas Land — while drivers near Peoria can fill up at Casey’s in Washburn for $3.69 as the statewide average climbs to $4.45. Peoria Journal Star

- ➤ Nearly $500,000 is set to upgrade Martin Luther King Jr. Park after City Council approved using Community Development Block Grant funds for a new picnic shelter, resurfaced paths, updated playground, and improved basketball courts. - ➤ Starting Tuesday, Adams Street ran two ways between William Kumpf and Hamilton Boulevards as part of the downtown conversion project, and city officials urged alertness for drivers navigating right-turn-only exits and new bike lanes. WMBD
