GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On May 15th at 9:30 a.m., demolition of the old eastbound span on McClugage Bridge will begin in Peoria and East Peoria, and several roads (including both directions of U.S. Route 150 between Adams Street and IL 116, ramps from IL 116 to westbound U.S. 150, and Lorentz Avenue) will close for about one hour as contractors detonate explosives after final safety checks.  Pekin Daily Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two state champion wrestlers from Peoria are headed to NCAA Division I. Washington's Peyton Cox will join North Dakota State after winning the 144-pound state title while Tremont's Bowden Delaney committed to Bellarmine University—both earned spots on the 2025 all-area team.  Pekin Daily Times
