- ➤ A Peoria man with a troubled past will launch a free six-month program called From Street Life 2 Straight Life on July 8th—adults will meet weekly using a point system to encourage attendance, volunteer work, and staying out of trouble. His non-profit, Second Chance at Life, has partnered with local organizations to help homeless individuals and those who have been incarcerated. 25 News Now
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Peoria mom pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated battery charges after allegedly abusing twin toddlers and causing one toddler’s death — she will remain in jail until her trial, with her next court date set for July 3 at 1 p.m. 25 News Now
- ➤ Peoria Police stopped a vehicle near W. Marengo and N. Lavelle Court on Wednesday morning, discovered a loaded handgun with a magazine inside, and arrested a 16-year-old male for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, lacking a FOID card, and defacing firearm identification marks before taking him to the Juvenile Detention Center.
