- ➤ The Peoria Fire Department responded Friday night to a garage fire on West Fremont where crews encountered heavy smoke and flames in a vacant building—firefighters extinguished the blaze in 15 minutes with no injuries, and property damage is estimated at $20,000 while investigators work to determine the cause. 25 News Now

- ➤ Police said a carjacking occurred Saturday night on South Western Avenue when a man threatened a driver with a gun and stole his car; the vehicle was later recovered on West Hulbert Street in South Peoria. 25 News Now
