  • Peorians joined the Murph Fitness Challenge at The House Barbell Club on Saturday, raising $6,000 for veterans’ physical & mental health. The event honored Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy and was organized by The Resilience Project to help veterans transition to civilian life.  25 News Now

  • Peoria will host the Blues and Heritage Music Festival as it marks its 35th annual celebration at Riverfront Festival Park on Labor Day weekend—Aug. 29-30. The event will feature live music on multiple stages with Grammy-award winner Ruthie Foster, Gov’t Mule, ZZ Ward, and Tommy Castro and the Painkillers along with local vendor booths and nighttime activities.  25 News Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • ICC ended on-campus student housing this spring so about 150 students will need new housing for the fall—Bradley University will house athletes while Methodist College will care for students in health studies.  25 News Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Yesterday, the 2025 IHSA girls track and field state finals took place at O'Brien Field at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston + top Peoria-area athletes competed in multiple events.
