- ➤ On Monday morning, over 200 locals joined a Memorial Day Salute 5k and one-mile walk at Lower Glen Oak Park and Springdale Cemetery to raise funds for veteran home repairs in the Tri-County area. 25 News Now
- ➤ The Greater Peoria Honor Flight is taking 72 local veterans and their guardians to tour war memorials in Washington, D.C. today, and they will return to Peoria by 9:30 p.m. for a short welcome program at the airport with shuttle service from the CEFCU parking lot. WMBD

- ➤ Peoria held a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25 at the Gateway Building. The event featured the Peoria Municipal Band along with local veterans, conversations, art & music, while the Riverfront Museum showcased exhibits celebrating America’s 250th birthday. 25 News Now

- ➤ Multiple road projects begin this week as East Peoria closes Washington Street (between Veterans Drive and Camp Street) today for bridge repairs, while Morton and Pekin also have street closures for sewer repairs and pavement upgrades; detours will reroute traffic around I-74 east ramps and local roads.
