- ➤ Illinois lawmakers passed the Prescription Drug Affordability Act to stop pharmacy benefit managers from steering patients to their own affiliated pharmacies and to levy fees for grants that help independent pharmacies—lawmakers say the changes could lower prescription drug costs. The bill cleared the Senate with bipartisan support and now waits for House concurrence before reaching Gov. JB Pritzker’s desk. WMBD
- ➤ The intersection of Adams Street and War Memorial Drive will be intermittently closed from June 2 through June 6 for steel beam removal from the old McClugage Bridge, with work occurring between 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. IDOT warns that each beam removal may delay traffic by about 20 minutes—drivers are advised to use alternate routes when possible.
