- ➤ Peoria’s Center for Prevention of Abuse is hosting its 37th Annual Duck Race on August 23 at EastSide Centre, where 35,000 ducks will race down a water slide and prizes such as a $10,000 grand prize will be awarded. Ducks are on sale for $5 each until race day and every purchase supports vital services for survivors of abuse. WMBD

- ➤ A Peoria County grand jury indicted 67-year-old attorney Thorn Smith for allegedly voting twice in the April 1 consolidated election after officials found he cast a second ballot following his earlier mail-in vote. WMBD

- ➤ Comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will return to Peoria for a show at Carver Arena on October 18 as part of his tour at the Peoria Civic Center—tickets go on sale through the PCC Insider Presale on Wednesday at noon and to the general public on Friday at noon. WMBD

- ➤ Peoria vocal coach Edith Barnard is offering a summer vocal class titled Sing for the Health of It — Shower Singers Unite! — for anyone eager to sing regardless of shyness.
