- ➤ Peoria Police investigated a shooting along the Riverfront Tuesday afternoon just after 3:15 p.m.—a woman was critically injured and taken to a hospital as all suspects are now in custody. WMBD
- ➤ East Peoria police arrested 32-year-old Dalton Johnston after investigators found he left the scene of a motorcycle versus SUV crash on Eastside Drive Monday just after 10:15 p.m.—the incident left a 41-year-old motorcycle rider with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. WMBD

- ➤ Residents in Peoria and other cities in northern Illinois face degraded air quality today as rain carries Canadian wildfire smoke from a cold front. Air readings reached about 102 in some suburbs and will be moderate in other areas, so those with heart or breathing issues should take breaks + limit their outdoor activity. Pekin Daily Times

- ➤ Unencrypted radio transmissions from the Peoria Police Department are no more — the department moved its PREP 1 channel to Broadcastify so the public can now access incident audio on desktop and mobile for Android and iOS. Police Chief Eric Echevarria said the change, made after community concerns, was designed to improve transparency. WMBD
- ➤ The Peoria Police Department now offers live access to its main dispatch audio channel (PREP 1) via Broadcastify to help keep people informed about patrol activities. Police Chief Eric Echevarria said the stream is part of efforts to build trust with the community. City of Peoria
