- ➤ A 70-year-old Bartonville man, William Collier, died when a stolen car hit him near Billie Jo’s Towing in Peoria on Monday—he suffered severe head injuries and no arrests have been made—as police and the coroner continue their investigation. WMBD
- ➤ On Wednesday night, firefighters responded to a residential fire on Homestead Avenue near NE Brevis Street after smoke and flames were seen coming from a first-floor window in an empty home where arson is suspected — crews quickly brought the fire under control within ten minutes, causing about $5,000 in damage with no injuries. - ➤ Stacker used Bureau of Labor Statistics data to rank science jobs in Peoria by their median annual wages as of May 2024. Chemists (120 positions) earned the highest pay at $122,950 while other roles like school psychologists and chemical technicians have lower wages and fewer openings. 25 News Now
