Due to severe weather on Wednesday, the 20th Central Illinois Emergency Expo was postponed to Thursday at Peoria’s Shoppes at Grand Prairie (between Dick’s Sporting Goods and IL Rt.

Peoria Historical Society works to preserve local history by collecting artifacts and hosting tours (which include exhibits at the Flanagan and Pettengill-Morron houses).
Volunteer Beth Johnson said the group uses its 70,000-item collection to share the community’s past.
Veterans, civic leaders and community members attended a Flag Day ceremony at Springdale Cemetery on Sunday, June 15 to dedicate the new Patriot Plaza that honors three Revolutionary War soldiers.
The event featured markers arranged around a concrete circle with a flagpole, and fundraising to improve ADA accessibility is ongoing.
