Peoria Park District discussed major renovations at Owens Ice Center at 1019 West Lake Ave, with work set to begin in 2028 to replace refrigeration units and add locker rooms + expanded lobby, bleachers, and parking while a third rink remains a possibility from community feedback.

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois report that many young girls are facing loneliness, low confidence, and body image issues, with 64% of ages five to seven feeling lonely.

The report shows the group will share more findings in October to help families and build supportive connections.

On Wednesday, Bradley University announced Madison Maloof as the first head coach for its new women’s ice hockey club sport.

The team will take the ice this fall as part of the Premier Club Sports initiative that also includes flag football and soccer.
