- ➤ Neighborhood House’s produce coupon program for low-income seniors is on pause because of a state funding delay—600 coupons already given should be kept while seniors wait for funds to clear and the coupon value drops from $50 to $25. WCBU

- ➤ Early Tuesday morning in East Bluff near Frye and New York, a 47-year-old female was robbed and beaten by two armed male suspects who fled toward Republic Street — police conducted a drone search but did not find them — and the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. - ➤ Peoria Police investigated an armed robbery that injured a 47-year-old woman early Tuesday morning at the intersection of E. Frye and N. New York avenues — two men reportedly struck her before stealing her belongings and fleeing toward E. Republic Street as she was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 25 News Now
- ➤ A federal judge sentenced former Reditus Labs CEO Aaron Rossi to 37 more months in prison for defrauding Illinois taxpayers & private insurers by double-billing for COVID-19 tests during the pandemic, adding to the five years he is already serving for a similar fraud at his former employer. 25 News Now

- ➤ The USDA has made $16 billion available to farmers who lost crops in 2023 and 2024 from events like flooding, drought, freezes, or smoke — local farmers eligible for the first stage of relief will receive a pre-filled application and stage 2 funds will be offered this fall. 25 News Now

- ➤ More than 1,000 students in the area received backpacks, pencils, and paper at the One Peoria school supply giveaway held Tuesday at Glen Oak Park. State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth and Sen. Dave Koehler hosted the event to help families with essential back-to-school needs. 25 News Now

- ➤ The new East Peoria Police Department building reached a key step on Tuesday when a steel topping out ceremony — showing the final steel piece put in place — took place at its $21 million headquarters on Camp Street near Clock Tower Drive. City and police leaders said floors will be poured next as the two-story building is set to be finished by next summer. WMBD

- ➤ OSF HealthCare and Meridian Health Plan of Illinois started a mobile maternity unit yesterday to bring prenatal and postpartum care to expectant and recent mothers in Peoria and nearby counties such as Woodford, Marshall, Knox, Henry, Putnam, Bureau and LaSalle. The vehicle has a provider, medical assistant and sonogram machine available for Medicaid patients – funded by a $1.5 million grant for three years. WCBU
