- ➤ Cirque Italia is a water circus from Europe that will perform at Peoria’s Exposition Gardens from August 22 to 25. The show will feature water acts, air tricks, balance feats, and bike jumps—telling the story of a farm boy who moves to a big city. Pekin Daily Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Peoria Public Schools’ superintendent Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat announced on July 18 that she will step down after the upcoming school year—her decade of leadership since 2015 included key policy changes such as introducing cell phone pouches, a new school calendar and clear backpack rules, and no details have been shared on her future or the search for a successor. - ➤ Illinois residents can view the Perseid meteor shower from mid-July to late August with peak activity on Aug. 12 and 13, and clear viewing times on July 24 and July 30 when the sky is best between midnight and dawn; moonlight may affect the view.
