Hundreds of people gathered along Bigelow — Hollyridge for the 5th annual Kickin Cancer in the Knolls lemonade stand fundraiser to support St. Jude.

The event has already exceeded its $50,000 goal and grew significantly from a $3,000 start in its first year.

Peoria Civic Center is halfway through its $18 million renovation, with a $5 million ice plant upgrade started in May to replace a 43-year-old system—work that will finish by October to supply quality ice for hockey and events.

Peoria City Soccer ended its season on Friday night with a 4+0 loss to Flint City Bucks in the USL League Two Central Conference Championship game, ending their run in the national quarterfinals.

The Carp secured a division championship and hosted playoff games this season.
