Bloomington-Normal St. Jude runners crossed the Bob Michel Bridge at 5 p.m. during a local parade and the 49th St. Jude Telethon started at 6:30 at the Peoria Civic Center yesterday.
Run coordinator Dennis Cler, after 29 years with the team, said runners remained hooked on saving lives.
The Board of Education agreed Friday to let Elite Community Outreach work with at-risk students next week when classes begin — the fall-only program now costs about half of the original price as part of the funding comes from an Illinois Safe School grant.
