- ➤ A teenager was sentenced to five years in prison on August 7 for his role in a January shooting in East Bluff — he admitted firing a weapon near Frye and Wisconsin where a vehicle was hit but no one was injured. WMBD

- ➤ World-renowned violinist Lindsey Stirling performed at the Peoria Civic Center on December 23, 2024 as part of her Snow Waltz tour that supported her album releases. - ➤ The Dirksen Congressional Center in Pekin is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open house reception today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—it marks the 1975 dedication by President Gerald Ford and features rare documents and artifacts, with future group tours and a pop-up museum planned during the Pekin Marigold Festival in September.
