  • Interstate 474 near Peoria airport will undergo partial closures for two days to facilitate the removal of old beams from the Airport Road overpass as part of a $9.4 million renovation project.  Pekin Daily Times
  • Dave Armstrong, the beloved full-time baker at Carl's Bakery in East Peoria for 23 years and a dedicated public servant, passed away at 76.  Peoria Journal Star
  • The Veterans Drive bridge closure is extended, with an anticipated reopening in mid-September, as it requires more repairs; motorists must find alternate routes.  City of East Peoria

CRIME NEWS

  • During the Labor Day weekend in Peoria, IL, police responded to several violent incidents including a stabbing, an armed robbery, and a vehicular hijacking, but no suspects were apprehended.  WMBD
