Peoria Riverfront Museum opened a 9/11 exhibition on Saturday commemorating 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
The exhibit shows rescue artifacts and memorials, including one honoring Peoria native Charles Chan — the only local victim, and runs until Apr. 11 at the museum.
Peoria Zoo hosted a Monarch Day celebration Saturday at its pollinator garden, where guests explored interactive activities on butterfly life stages (dozens of monarchs were released to underscore conservation efforts) and learned about the insects' migration journey.
