HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Tazewell County Jail is using bottled water and disinfecting its pipes—steps taken after tests found legionella following the death of a 93-year-old inmate charged with murder who had legionnaires’ disease. Sheriff Lower said eligible non-violent inmates will be released to reduce crowding. WCBU
- ➤ Tazewell County and Carle Health will offer free mammograms on Friday, October 17 at Carle Health North, Carle Health-Proctor, and Carle Health-Pekin+ eligible women ages 40-64, including the uninsured, can get screened to catch breast cancer early. WMBD
