CULTURE NEWS

  • Bradley University Theatre will show Into the Woods, its first full musical since 2017, with performances set for November 7-9 and November 12-16 at the Meyer Jacobs Theatre. Dr. Mae Gilliland of ArtsPartners spoke with director Al Oltmanns—who reimagined classic fairy tale characters using Stephen Sondheim's music—to explain the production.  WCBU
  • Chicago-based comedy troupe The Second City will perform its holiday revue 'Jack Frost Roasting on an Open Fire' at Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center on Nov. 29 — part of the college's guest artist series. Tickets are available online and at the box office Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Peoria Journal Star

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Community leaders celebrated 75 years of the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria on Wednesday, marking a historic milestone that includes the opening of a new terminal and the addition of Mt. Hawley Airport in North Peoria. Director of Airports Gene Olson said the authority, which took over operations from the Peoria Park District in 1950, is now at record performing levels—an achievement that underscores its lasting impact on the region.  WMBD

HEALTH NEWS

  • OSF HealthCare is actively recruiting more urologists and advanced practice providers to address a nationwide shortage and expand patient care. Two new urologists will start in July 2026 — some patients are being transitioned to Dr. Erin Mowers for ongoing care.  25 News Now

  • The Bradley men's basketball team now has a new floor at Carver Arena—installed by the Peoria Civic Center in a trade involving the old floor—and will debut it today in an exhibition game against Saint Louis.  Pekin Daily Times
