  • The Moss-Bradley Residential Association has asked residents on Moss between Western and MacArthur not to host door-to-door trick-or-treaters due to an active construction zone that poses safety hazards + restricted vehicle access, while other parts of Moss remain open for trick-or-treating.  25 News Now

  • Raymour & Flanigan is hosting a Veterans' Day Sale—available until November 11—that offers up to $1,000 off select furniture for every room. The sale gives Peoria residents a chance to update their homes ahead of the holiday season.  Pekin Daily Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Illinois Central College is showing an original Rembrandt intaglio print at its East Peoria art gallery, free to the public, until November 7 — the work is on loan from Midwest Multicare — and will hold a community reception on Wednesday featuring a short printmaking talk.  Peoria Journal Star

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Peoria have fallen as GasBuddy’s survey of 148 stations reported an average of $3.11 on Monday, inching closer to $3 per gallon— the lowest station was priced at $2.86. Prices dropped about 20 cents from last month and 21 cents from this time last year.  25 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Peoria City Council will review a proposal today for a new 80,000 square foot Dunlap school as Dunlap Community School District 323 plans to replace Wilder-Waite Grade School to address rising enrollment—features include a playground, basketball court, landscaped courtyard and future solar panel site, with construction starting mid-March and finishing by summer 2027.  WCBU

  • The Journal Star announced the nominees for girls high school athlete of the week for Oct. 20-25, listing athletes from Dunlap, Metamora, Eureka, and Peoria Notre Dame — the poll closed at noon Friday online.  Pekin Daily Times
  • Bradley Braves men's basketball will host North Central College at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 at Renaissance Coliseum on campus with 4,200 seats; Bradley students get free tickets starting Wednesday at 8 a.m. The team will wear special white jerseys—featuring red numbers bordered with gray and 'The Hilltop' in cursive—for this game.  Pekin Daily Times
