- ➤ Monday night, the 38th Tree of Lights campaign began in Peoria and Pekin to fund shelter, child care, and food assistance for those in need. The Peoria effort aims to raise $2 million and has gathered $294,000 from major donations while Pekin has reached $35,000 of its $200,000 goal—officials stress that every contribution counts. WMBD
- ➤ The 41st annual East Peoria Festival of Lights will kick off on November 22 at 6:30 p.m. with the Parade of Lights featuring holiday music from Mix 106.9—streets including Springfield Road and Taylor Street will be closed for the event and the floats will join Folepi’s Winter Wonderland drive-through display starting November 28. ECONOMY NEWS
