- ➤ Peoria Fire Department responded at 9:55 a.m. to a fire at Bradley University’s Sigma Nu fraternity house on West Fredonia Avenue—where people burned furniture outside—that quickly spread to the roof and side of the building, causing about $100,000 in damage with no injuries while the university set up temporary housing for 16 students. 25 News Now

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Illinois school officials and education advocates requested nearly $747.99 million in extra K-12 funding for the upcoming fiscal year, including $350 million for Evidence-Based Funding and $100 million for mandatory categorical programs. The Illinois State Board of Education reviewed the requests in Chicago and will finalize its budget proposal in January — lawmakers are expected to consider the proposal as state agencies plan a 4% spending cut amid fiscal uncertainty.
