- ➤ Firefighters responded Sunday night near East Koch Drive in North Peoria when a greenhouse caught fire, controlling the blaze in about an hour and saving a house 25 feet away—no injuries were reported. 25 News Now

- ➤ Whitey's 29 powered by Crusens, formerly Whitey's BBQ, will hold a soft opening on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 a.m. at 1007 N. Main St. in Creve Coeur after closing last October for renovations + it continued offering catering during the closure. Pekin Daily Times

- ➤ Almost 100 teenagers from the Lincoln Challenge Academy graduated yesterday at the Peoria Civic Center after five months of classes, physical training and community service. The program builds life skills with guidance (mentors chosen from each student’s own network) and will start its next session in January. 25 News Now

- ➤ Dr. Joy Erlichman Miller, who founded Joy Miller & Associates and helped thousands with mental health services, died suddenly Saturday. Known for co-founding the local Teen Crisis Line, she would have celebrated her 75th birthday today. 25 News Now
