- ➤ Musician Barry Cloyd will lead the 25th Celtic Winter Solstice Celebration on Monday, Dec. 22 at The Fox Pub — doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. as he blends ancient Celtic folklore with music. WCBU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local radio stations and artists may soon adjust their practices if the proposed American Music Fairness Act passes — it would require new royalty payments from stations for performer compensation. The legislation will be debated when Congress returns. 25 News Now
- ➤ The Peoria City Council approved spending up to $300,000 from Biden-era Rescue Plan funds to keep New Hope Apartments open and shelter 72 residents after two fires damaged the building on Northeast Jefferson. City staff said the money will fix key systems and hire extra fire watch as winter approaches. 25 News Now
- ➤ Peoria City Council approved an agreement to build an amphitheater in Riverfront Park between the Murray Baker Bridge and the RiverPlex. Hengst Foundation donated $11M and the theater will be named for the late Dee Hengst (5,000-seat venue) as design plans are previewed by TERRA Engineering. 25 News Now
