EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Woodruff Career Technical Center will use a $6,500 grant from River City Construction Foundation to buy a new SawStop table saw that stops automatically to protect students. The donation was raised during a corn hole tournament in September and will boost on-the-job training for skilled trades. 25 News Now
- ➤ Illinois Superintendent Tony Sanders warned that the education budget will not see a big increase in K-12 funding next year because fiscal pressures remain high. The board will review his proposal on Jan. 14 and Gov. Pritzker will consider it for the state budget. WCBU

- ➤ Peoria residents should note that recycling and trash pick-up is delayed by one day after Christmas Day — Thursday routes will move to Friday and Friday routes will shift to Saturday, while Monday through Wednesday remain on schedule. City of Peoria
