Museum Conversations: An Evening with President Lincoln

About this event

In commemoration of one of the most enduring speeches in American history, the Peoria Riverfront Museum welcomes back acclaimed Abraham Lincoln interpreter Fritz Klein for a special presentation of the Gettysburg Address. Portraying the 16th president of the United States, Klein brings Lincoln’s words to life on the anniversary of their delivery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Spoken in the midst of the Civil War, the Gettysburg Address transformed a dedication of a battlefield cemetery into a profound reflection on sacrifice, equality, democracy, and the unfinished work of the American experiment. Experience this defining moment in American history as it may have been heard more than 160 years ago and discover why Lincoln’s 272 words continue to resonate across generations.
