About this event
Traditional Ashtanga practice that is guided through mostly primary, yet some intermediate asanas. Ashtanga is a very dynamic and athletic form of hatha yoga with a fixed sequence of postures, transitions and breaths. It is rooted in vinyasa with a focus on energy and breath. While it is a very physical practice, it also promotes mental clarity and inner peace. An ashtanga vinyasa practice of asanas typically begins with five repetitions of surya namaskara A and B respectively, followed by a standing sequence. The practitioner then progresses through one of six series of postures, followed by a standard closing sequence. Each posture is maintained for 5-8 breaths. We will follow the sequence that includes Sun Salutes, standing postures, balance, seated postures, and finishing postures. Ashtanga comes with all the benefits of a regular yoga practice–strength, flexibility, stress management, and inner peace. 60 or 75 minutes, all levels, high infrared heat *our classes have a 2 hour cancellation policy: either single pass or punch will be withheld or $10 fee for unlimited and membership
