Tazewell County voters once again defeated a 1% school facilities sales tax on Tuesday. In unofficial results, 54.8% said no. The tax would have raised an estimated $22 million a year for Tazewell's 18 school districts.
Morton voters approved a $4.8 million bond for the park district, with about 63 percent support. In East Peoria, 56.7% voted no on the Fondulac District Library question. Library administrators say the increase wouldn't have actually raised taxes.
